Here is an amplitude visualization of a song on a Tektronix 466 oscilloscope though the variable persistence feature. It's simply a visualization of voltage on a headphone jack with the song playing.
The oscilloscope was set for a the slowest sweep setting (0.5 s/div). The view time, storage level, and intensity were tweaked so that the stored traced would fade out by the time the next sweep reached the same point.
The song is a traditional cover of Bad Apple.
